Not filtering more than 10000 unique items

Hi,

I am using Excel 2010

Filtered data is not showing more than 10000 unique items. Though I have option to search those extra unique items but that will not solve the purpose

Is there any way out

Thanks in advance!!

What are you trying to achieve?

You can use Find to find specific items

Sir,

I want to know whether it can be overcome by some tricks so that entire data could be considered instead of only 10000 unique items

Also one need to mention exact data while searching through filter. For example, in case of 10 digit if try with first 7 digit then it does not identify.

Hi ,

Why do you want more than 10,000 items to appear in the filter dropdown ?

One of the answers in Excelforum mentions that you can add a column to your data which puts in an additional number or letter to segregate the data so that you can filter on this column first ; this will ensure that your data is always less than 10,000 unique items as far as the dropdown is concerned.

If you explain your requirement in more detail , a precise solution can be suggested.
