Non-Volatile timestamp when specific text is entered into an adjacent cell?

Joey

New Member
My name is Joey, I am pretty new to formulas, and I am trying to timestamp a cell only when the word fail is entered into an adjacent cell. For example, if F5 gets fail entered into it, H5 will display the time that occurred at, without automatically updating when any changes are made to the worksheet. I haven't found anything online. Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you =)

Hi Joey,

Look at the attached file, it has a Worksheet_change macro, whereby if you enter Fail in any cell, the adjacent cell will be have the Formula Now() calculated and then the result will then be converted to a value.

Awesome! Thank you so much! I need to learn Macros more! I also have another issue for a friend that could use some guidance. He wants to gather information from two worsksheets and display them on the third worksheet and update automatically. Any additional help is greatly appreciated!
