network path / escape character

J Wilke

New Member
I am attempting to link to a file on a network drive. The pathway includes multiple folders with ampersands, which is a concatenation character. How can I link to the file in question? Is there perhaps an escape character or special function that ignores ampersands?

Thank you,
J Wilke

How are you attempting to create the link to the file? The ampersands shouldn't be a problem if they are housed in quotation marks.

Hi, J Wilke!
Could you post the full path of the linked file? If needed to mask part of the data regarding privacy issues, please replace the same amount of letters with an X and don't shorten or omit any part.
If it's a single string, post the string, if it's build into formulas or by code, post the contents of all the cells/variables required.
Regards!

[SOLVED]

Not an escape character, but I set a cell equal to an ampersand, named the cell, and concatenated that into the pathway.
