Need to reduce file size

I'm trying everything possible to reduce the size of my files as it takes so long to open and crashes other peoples machines when they use it, I have already pasted as values so absolutely no formulas are in here at all, I have deleted all rows and columns to the bottom and right of my work on each sheet, I have changed all the coloured text to just be black the same as the rest and I have saved it as a binary file, is there anything else I can do?

You do not say how big a file it is?? Save As under a new name and then see if all you have done works
 
The one I'm having trouble with is 8,301KB, its a bit strange because I have another file that is 20474KB that I do not have trouble with.

What I have been doing has been reducing the size but it's still too slow

While using the Macro's and VBA it is better to Save the files in these formats like .xlsm, .xlsb etc


with the above extension your file will store in required KB and works in faster

Pardon my rudeness but either I've misunderstood what you have said to me or you just haven't read my message at all?!
 
A lot of times, there is cell formatting in unused cells which can lead to file bloat. Even when you hide unused rows and columns, the formatting data is saved (and I suspect that probably applies even when you delete those rows and columns).


If you copy only the cells with data into a new file and save, I'll bet you find it a much more manageable file size.


PS. It's been my experience that .xlsb file format tends to be the best as far as keeping the file size down.

I have already tried copying and pasting into a new file and still no joy, also SirJB7 basically you're just telling me to post a sample file?

Yes, as any suggestions to improve performance are related to the workbook structure, the formulas, the VBA code, ... i.e., impractical if not impossible without the file.
