my xlsm option is greyed out to edit links

.xlsm option greyed out for Edit Links I have a sheet that the xlsm is grayed out and I can not edit my links. The sheets are not protected. Is there a way around this so I can edit my sheets. How do I turn this function back on? I have no issues editing them from the other sheets to this sheet but can't from this one sheet to the others

I would like to help you, but I don't completely understand what your problem is...

Are you speaking about sheets from the same workbook or different files with a xlsm extension?

Where is the option greyed out exactly? Or what are you trying to do when this option is not available?

If it is to large to upload then you could upload to Dropbox.

The Edit Links function is used to control links between different workbooks ie, external links. If your workbook has no external links, then the tool will remain greyed out.

sheets from s different workbook that link up to the Master book. I have other books with similar programs that work just fine

I will upload two pictures and you can see one is grayed out and the other is not

I know about drop box. I am sure it did not happen here and I am almost certain it came from another site but last time I used drop box on one of my files they (someone) corrupted and ruined all my files and planted a virus in my laptop causing ALL of my files to be corrupt. Over a years worth or programming down the tubes. It even corrupted what was on my zip stick so I really do not want to upload my files. Hopefully you can tell me or suggest what I can look at by the pics or from your knowledge

If you quote all answers your thread will get unduly long and tedious to read putting people of from viewing, quoting is normaly used to raise a point or clarify.


I have used Dropbox for some time now and do not know how by uploading a link to a file on the Dropbox server someone can do the damage you describe or gain access to your laptop.

sry about the quotes... yes I read this, I will have to check . As far as I know I have done them ll the same and they have external links to them. Is there a specific place I would look for this?

You have one link from the .xlsx to the xlsm there does not appear to be any links in the xlsm to any other workbook so that is why it is greyed out.

What are you actualy trying to do in the xlsm workbook

In your xlsm workbook you have four empty modules????
 
I put the new numbers (4 to 6 numbers 1 through 75) in 4 to 6 columns in the Master book. It feeds the other books I'm calling slaves. The Input book feeds the Numbers book. Make sense?

How can I add the data to the modules that are empty?

Are you trying to add Data to the modules, you can only add code to the modules, not data

Oh no, I know Kanti. Just got hacked hard and burned out kinda where do I begin You've seen some of my sheets Seems like they won't link now, I can't n protect some sheets, some data/formulas all messed up My files are a nightmare. I had o reformat my hard drive and start a lot of things over again. It's frustrated. Would love to know where code went to my modules. Things like that are frustrating.

Sounds awful, but it may be an opportunity to re-look at what you were doing and set out fresh, let me know if I can help

I have appositive attitude and it won't be as difficult I thought. Its a lot of copy and paste once the code is written one or two times LOL. Just disappointed in folks that have to pray and do things like this to harm others that mean no hard to them. I've already started a new book that is NOT protected and NOT grayed out LOL. Thanks for the offer, I may take you up on it as I trust you and I appreciate the help
 
The best part about having faith and the laws of attraction is when you see them working. I've figured out how to bypass the protected sheets and copy all my files to clean sheet by using the copy/paste function. How easy us that? Thus will be time consuming but a lot better than reprogramming PLUS, I love dong things Microsoft says can't be done. Lol
