Multiple Data validation types in same cell

In column A I can have different entries in in a cell. If it's "B" I want the data validation in column E to be a data V list. If it's "I" I need the data validation to be decimal. Is this possible?

I will have a good look at to see if I can understand it.

I do have many hundreds of rows that this would need to apply to - would the VBA work?
