The VBA code should be in excel - and when the macro is run - it should have a DB connection to MS Planner application to upload the data from excel to Microsoft planner.

As You wrote Yourself MS planner can read Excel files then why You ask something else?

I wanted an automated code - not a manual upload - as it would be a project plan in excel which i wanted to auto sync with Planner. Manual upload doesnt solve my purpose.
