Modifying Tab Colors in Excel 2007 (can't change to single color?)

Hi,

I changed the colors on several tabs. And I realize that the tab colors are now two tones (one heavier and one lighter) instead of a single solid color. And in one black tab the upper part is white and lower half in black, while the text is still black when the tab is selected. Is there a way

1. change the tab color into one solid color like in MS 2003?

2. change the text color manually?

Thanks.

Surely, they are only two-tone when selected, and single solid when not selected. This is to highlight the selected tab.

That is just a design feature of Excel

The top half is a lighter shade of the selected color
