Missing Link

Good afternoon

When I open an excel spreadsheet which had a link to another spreadsheet which has subsequently been moved I get a message to say the links cannot be updated.

Is there a way of quickly locating which cells are affected?

Goto the Data tab

Edit Links (a small icon right of Refresh)

Select the file/s one at a time and re-establish the links to the files in their new location/s

Thanks for this answer and sorry to be so ignorant but how do I locate which cells it is talking about in my open Excel sheet?

This route tells me that there are worksheets that cannot be linked to but I am trying to establish in an multi-tabbed excel sheet exactly which cells have these links so I can review their importance.

Make sense?

It doesn't matter which cells they are

Relinking will fix them

Remember that links may also be in

Charts

Hyperlinks

Named Formula

SQL and other connections

Etc

The above technique fixes them all

To find where they all are do a Google Custom Search ( Up the top of this page) on Find Links

It has been discussed here a bit
