Microwave Output Wattage Formula

AUTO

New Member
First off Hi Folks!

Now, not your normal Excel question I know.

Does anyone know of a formula to convert microwave output wattage cooking times?

e.g. from 700w to 900w

There are a ton of sites offering tables and such but I'm looking for a universal formula.

Any help appreciated.

I looked a 2 tables quickly and it looks like

the conversions from a Standard 700 Watt microwave oven to your oven is based on

Your Time=(700/Your Power)*Standard Time

Example:

You have a 900 watt Microwave and a Beautiful chocolate cake recipe that requires 5 minutes cooking

Your Time = (700/900)*300 seconds (5 minutes)

Your Time = 233 seconds (3 min 54 secs)

Whichs sounds right as a more powerfull microwave will take less time and a smaller one more time
