I've got a big problem here, my daughter has password protected a large and important Excel customer list and now she can't remember the password to open it... any ideas out there?... Dennis
Yikes. Is it the password to protect the sheet, or the password to actually open the document?
If it's just sheet protection, I'd recommend (free!):

If you can't open the workbook at all, that's a bit more work. There are several programs you might be able to use that will crack the password for you. I've not used any myself, so I can't recommend any one in particular. Try Googling "excel open password recovery" perhaps. =(
As Hui I use Elcomsoft products since 1997, they're great and the support is excellent. I strongly recommend AOPR. These guys are always on the top of the wave in password retrieving and cracking.
If you don't care about original password you can try too Advanced Office Password Breaker AOPB, check for your file version.
This Excel Add-in has been optimized for speed in several ways, so you don't have to unprotected your Excel sheets during lunch breaks or leave your PC on overnight !
