Hello guys,

I need help. I was assigned to create a log in log out form using excel vba form. My boss gave me datas, which are ( emp id, emp name, schedule). What he wants is everytime the employee enters that employee number in the textbox, as they hit enter it will find the employee number in the data, and will show in label1 the name of the employee, in label2 the last time they log in and in label3 is the last time they log out. Then once the emp id is not in the list it will say "not am employee".

Please help me guys. I know this would be easy for you. I am still trying to learn.

Hi Ryan ,

Please upload a workbook which has enough data in it.

If you can create the userform with the textbox and the label , please include that too.

Yes, it's , I modified it. Now, it works better.
You can get 'date'-information from 'log in/out'-information.
It'll automatic solve 'in' or 'out'.
You're going in then 'log in' and next time 'log out', next time 'log in' and so on.
You can only edit 'emp id' with keyboard.
If You want to use this without keyboard, only with mouse, this can modify.
Now, 'emp id' can be only number.

it seems different. but working..
- here is the scenario. let say my emp id is 123456, i'll type in 123456 in the textbox. once i hit enter, it should NOT close and do time stamp. it should show the name of the emp in the label, and the last time they log in or log out. there should be a combo box after, that they could choose whether to log in or log out. then a button submit. PLease see the attached file before your reply.

I looked Your file.
You can test this version with '123456' too,
and after hit <enter> it only shows informations.
You want that the user have possible to make mistake with IN or OUT.
An automatic selection is safer ( user cannot go IN-IN or OUT-OUT, only OUT-IN-OUT-IN-OUT...), but I added that possible to do so, 2nd lowest button; by clicking IN or OUT.
I changed the lowest button's caption to SUBMIT.

vletm and narayan..

can you please check this file that I created.
I have a few problem.
1. If I hide the DATA sheet, and I enter the employee ID which is available. its giving me employee not available.
2. If I arrange the position of the sheets (put tracker first then data), its giving me error message.
3. I also want to that each time the employee click submit, it will ask for a password. if the password is correct, it will then do time stamp for log out or log in.
4. Also, In the tracker sheet. I put a column for the total number of hours. (I want this automatic if log in and log out time is filled in).

Hi Ryan ,

Can you check if the first 2 problems have been resolved ?

Regarding problems 3 and 4 , can you say what exactly should happen if :

1. Log in is selected and the SUBMIT button is clicked ?

2. Log out is selected and the SUBMIT button is pressed ?
