Locking a row to prevent change

Hi

I have attached a copy of my spreadsheet. What i am needing is a way to lock the first row so the headings cannot be changed but i need to keep the filter accessible and the rest of the worksheet to be unlocked to allow data to be inputted - copied and pasted etc. is this possible ??

Half way there - i still need to be able to convert table to range and insert new tables - this is not allowing me to do so
i may be been too picky here as to what i want excel to do
so basically i want the who spreadsheet to be 'normal' so can be edited, formatted copied, pasted etc - all i need to remain as is is the wording within cells on 1st row - hope this makes sense

If You've asked something then that should be something that You've had an clear idea.
Why did Your sample file has a table?
Why did You skip ... half way?
How should someone else than You would guess something else than You've written?
Ps. You can add there other table and so on after You've unprotected that sheet.
Or what was Your point of that?
