Linking Excel Worksheets

Hi,

I am trying to link 2 excel workbooks located in D drive; <Book1.xls> is the linked file and <Book2.xls> the source file. On copying <Book1.xls> to C drive all the formula changes from "'D:....." to "'C:....".

How can I prevent excel from automatically changing the linked path?

Thanks.

You can't

By default and not-editable is that if all the files stay in the same directory or sub directorys below the opening directory Excel will sort it out. But if you change the root or upper directories excel will be lost..

When you open that you'll get the option to Edit links

or else goto Data, Connections, Edit Links

re-link all the files as appropriate
