Issues with selecting a single cell in Excel

A colleague of mine has asked if I can help. She selects a single cell in Excel (think it is 2010 but may be 2007) and about three cells below the cell she has selected are highlighted. I notice she is working in page layout view. Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions of how to stop this occurring? Your help is appreciated.

Hi Jazzkid,

This happens mostly with Shift Keys being (stickkeys) locked unintensionally. Just try to turn off the skick keys, (by pressing shift keys 5 times continously), Or pressing Shift keys, alt key, cntrl key 3 or 4 times and check if it is released.

Let me know if it works.

Regards,

Prsad DN

PS: Try one side of shift key at a time.

I just found another possible issue. If F8 is pressed, it turns on/off "Extend selection". I just tried this and it does extend the selection - so that is possibly the issue. Have suggested to my colleague and will put here if it works.

Thanks

Jazzkid
