ISNA( ) not working with conditional formatting

I highlighted a range, G2:G1383, the entered a CF formula which reads =ISNA(J2)
and the CF is not working (red background fill).

Column J has a VLOOKUP formula which evaluates to #N/A.

Why isn't this working?

I can't upload this data (company data).

Are you sure you didn't put a $ sign in there somewhere
=Isna($J2) or =Isna(J$2) may throw it off

Hi ,

There is no setting for the CF to work ; if you can try it out in a new worksheet in your existing workbook , you can progress in trying to understand where the problem lies.

@DashboardNovice

I tried duplicating your problem without any $, and there seems to be no problem. Simply =ISNA(J2) is working. Make sure you select the range G2:G1383 by making G2 as active cell.
