If statement based on a cell reference

I have a long if statement referring to a cell that contains a cell reference not a value (IE: if A1=$7.00, B1) but A1 refers to C1 and is not a value. What is the best way for that If statement to recognize the cell as a value?

Well, this works on my computer but not on the persons I am trying to help.

This is where you can use the INDIRECT function.

Can you post your formula , and the contents of the cells referred to in the formula ?
