hyperlink created via HYPERLINK function not exported to PDF

Hi


I wanted some dynamic hyperlinks in XL and used HYPERLINK function, but these links are not exported when converted to PDF format. So the question becomes;


Is there a way to export web links created using HYPERLINK function to PDF

or

IS there a way to use append cell refrences in address field while creating web hyperlinks.

I think you need to create the hyperlink from the PDF file, not from XL.

I've had this problem in the past. When converting from Excel to PDF there are a couple of approaches. Do you print to PDF or do you convert from Excel to PDF?

When you print to pdf Adobe seems to recognize the http:// and converts the text to a hyperlink. When you convert to PDF a hyperlink is recognized from the Hyperlink formatting and will work (if there is no formula associated with it). Those links using the "Friendly Name" that do not have a visible http:// don't appear to be recognized by the PDF. Hope this helps.

I would like to add, what I have observed, when hyperlink is assigned using Ctrl+K to a "Friendly name", the hyperlink is exported to PDF; however, when hyperlink is assigned using HYPERLINK function it is not exported.


I feel the difference is; when we use Ctrl+K, hyperlink is assigned to the cell, however, in case of HYPERLINK function it may or may not be the full cell.


Any thoughts?

I've just registered to say I've been annoyed by this broken feature for the past three years. I feel your frustrations. In fact, I've just upgraded to 2010 after being told it's fixed. What nonsense -- it's the same!
