hi,

I have a excel( excel 2010) sheet in which many cells are protected. some of them is provided with hyperlinks. So when i protecting the sheet those hyperlinks become unusable. i dont want to unlock those cells to prevent modification of content.

Is there any way to enale only hyperlink on a locked+protected cell ?

I hope someone can help me on this ....

Thanks in advance.

best,

Vijesh Paul

Vijesh,

I have tried this in 2007 and did not find any issues.

I am not aware if this is a new feature in 2010.

Vijay,

Listing what i did,

1,Hyperlink is attached to a cell

2,Locked the cell.

3,protected the sheet by slecting "select unlocked cells" only.

its not working for me...

am i wrong somewhere ?

Vijesh,

By default all the cells are locked, and hence when we protect the sheet and then try to type something excel presents us with en error message.

Below is what I have done in my 2007 sheet

1. Create a new workbook

2. Type http://www.microsoft.com in any cell

3. Protected the sheet without any password

4. Tried to click on the cell and the hyperlink opened without any issues.

Feel free to call me on 9811996454 if requried.

Thanks Vijay....

Sry for delay...gone for snacks brk....

It works. Also it cleared my several doubt about protecting the sheet. I used to uncheck "select format cells" (thinking that i can prevent any change only in this way...)

Thanks a lot again...

Best,

Vijesh.
