How to use the function Cell(“address”)

Dear All

I have typed =Cell(“address”) in one particular cell say K10, it will display $K$10. However, if we copy this command and stretch downwards, say upto K20, all the cells from K10 to K20 is displaying the same value $K$10. Then copy + paste from K21 to K23, it will display $K$20. However, in the name Box, it will display the correct cell reference as per sequence. In all the 4 directions the same is happening. I deleted the data from K11 to K23. Then the Cell K10 displays $K$11. The result of Copy+ paste or stretching of any formula like Sum, Count, etc may not be same. But, the same result is occurring. Can anybody inform what is the concept/logic behind this ?

Hi ,

When you use the CELL function , always provide a reference as the second parameter.

Thus , if you are entering the formula in K10 , enter it as :

=CELL("address" , K10)

Now , when you copy down , the result will be correctly displayed.
