How to set criteria for 2 different columns with different data

Hi Jaggi ,

We are back to our usual communication !

Can you explain what data is to be selected from this one column of names ?

If you create a pivot table from this one column , you will get a list of unique names to be found in the list.

Look at this file and comment.

Hi Narayan

There are many fields which I have deleted from the sample file, but my focal point is on this one column. I am glad you create this, but I want to know is it possible to have a condition set on the "data tab"..In case if I want to pull the data of individual person say "Jagdev Sinder" from the "data tab" is it possible?...Can we set a condition "Yes/No" in the data tab which will help us to create pivot for only those individual whose condition is set to "Yes" from the Data tab..

Regards,
Jaggi

Hi Jaggi ,

I think if you can explain why you are insisting on a pivot , things will be clearer.

What is the purpose of uploading a file which has just one column with 6000 rows of names ?

You could have said the same thing in so many words !

The purpose of uploading a sample file is to avoid using so many words , since the sample file will convey so much more information ; in this case , we are going about it the other way , the sample file communicating nothing , and now we are communicating back and forth trying to understand something.

Can you explain in so many words what you want to do ?

1. You have 6000 rows of data.

2. Column A consists of many names with a lot of repetition.

3. There are many other columns of data , about which nothing is known.

4. You will enter YES / NO , I do not know where.

5. A pivot table should be constructed using only the names which have YES against them.

Please confirm whether my understanding so far is correct. If it is , I am no nearer understanding what your problem is , or what kind of a solution you are looking for.

Hopefully in your next post , you can clarify something.

Jaggi – I am looking for the individual reporting expect with this..it also help me to keep a tab in case a review needed on an individual.

Jaggi – Sorry about the confusion. There are many columns in a RAW DATA, but the trigger point from the entire sheet is this column.

You could have said the same thing in so many words !
– Sorry for the confusion Narayan!

– Sorry Again!

Can you explain in so many words what you want to do ?

1. You have 6000 rows of data – This may vary, but the user name/Individual names will be fixed.

2. Column A consists of many names with a lot of repetition. – This individual will be assigned to work on the list of tasks

3. There are many other columns of data , about which nothing is known. – They are record which I can’t share..

4. You will enter YES / NO , I do not know where – Can we create something like this

Set of Individuals Availability
Akshay Yes
Raju No
Roma Yes
Sam Yes
Shraddha No
Shyam Yes

5. A pivot table should be constructed using only the names which have YES against them – Perfect this is what I am looking for.

Please confirm whether my understanding so far is correct. If it is , I am no nearer understanding what your problem is , or what kind of a solution you are looking for. – Narayan you are a champ!

Hopefully in your next post , you can clarify something – Please lemme know if you need further clarification.

Jaggi

Hi Narayan

Sorry for troubling you on this post. Till now the macro is working fine, but is it possible to add one more condition on the list of Task assigned to an individual. Like the upper limit on number or tasks with the current condition.

We have set a condition on the Task Reference number such that once the number is changed the task is assigned to another individual from the list. Is it possible to set one more condition with it. Like in case the number exceeds upper limit say 10 task s then also the individual name should be changed.

I have amended the sample file and attached it with the mail.

Regards,
Jaggi
