how to put percentage auto running formula

Hello community,
How do we add a percentage formula which can be pulled down to eneable the auto running function . because as i enter the new formula in the next row the upper row formula changes.
Example:-

Gender ---GENDERWISE DISTRIBUTION---PERCENTAGE
MALE------89------------------------------=B2/B4*100
FEMALE---45------------------------------=B3/B4*100
TOTAL-----134-----------------------------
. Now here as soon as i write percent formula for female , the formula for male percent changes to B2/B3*100 autmatically and when i correct the male percentage formula . the female one gives ZERO ERROR because it shifts its denominator to B5.

Sounds like one of two possible issues

1. Check that calculation is set to Automatic,
Goto the Formula, Calculations Options tab and tick Automatic

2. Is your data in an Excel Table?,
Change it back to a range, Put your formulas in then convert back to a table

If these don't help can you post it here with details on what is wrong

Hi Pandey ,

If you really want to use B4 as the denominator in both cases , why not make its reference absolute , and enter the formula as =B3*100/$B$4 ?

Or to be even more accurate , use the formula =B2*100/SUM(B$2:B$3) , so that when you copy it down , or it is automatically filled in , the next formula down below will become B3*100/SUM(B$2:B$3).

Even better is if you convert the range to a table as follows :

Gender        Distribution          Percentage
Male                89              0.664179104
Female              45              0.335820896
Total              134

then , the formula for each percentage will be :

=Table1[[#This Row],[Distribution]]/Table1[[#Totals],[Distribution]]
