How to highlight SUNDAYS ?

bhasoriya

Member
Hello all, Good morning,

I am using Cntrl+: command for dates. I wants to highlight all sunday's date. The cell color should be different. Is there any conditional formula..?

Could you please guide me.

Thanks in Advance.:)

Suppose your dates are in the column A

22/09/12

18/09/12

19/09/12

20/09/12

21/09/12

22/09/12

23/09/12

24/09/12

25/09/12

1. Select Column A

2. Go to Conditional Formatting > Manage Rules

3. Select Use a formula to determine which cells to format

4. Type the formula in the formula box

=TEXT($A1,"DDD")="Sun"

5. Format as you want

6. Ok

Done!

Hi, bhasoriya!

Even both solutions work fine, I prefer that from shrivallabha as it runs in all language versions of Excel, while nazmul_munner's one does it only on English versions.

Regards!

SirJB7,

Point taken. I'd not considered this possibility, honestly. To me, numbers are safe bet than text. Thank you.

@shirvallabha

Hi!

I prefer them too, specially after having had many differences/errors because of my non-English Excel versions. Maybe that's why I'd look so extremely precautious. You're always welcome (as read too).

Regards!
