How to hide cash sales for the day behind the date.

An excel worksheet has dates for the month of April.
What i would like...... hidden behind each date is the cash sales value for the day.
So, if i move the cursor over a date the cash sales number for the day becomes visible (or the words 'No Sale' in case of a Sunday or Public Holiday). And if i move the cursor away from the cell (right outside the calendar grid) the date becomes visible again.
How can i construct an Excel formula to do the same.
Btw...having comment boxes on each date is one option. But the green marks on the cells are a tell-tale.
Million thanks.

I do not think you are going to be able to do this mouse over with a formula, "two into one don't go", If it can be done, it will probable need VBA, I think this is another case of expecting Excel to do everything it is not designed to do.
