How to access cell data in a workbook hosted in another computer?

Hi Friends,


How can I access the data in workbook that is hosted on another computer?


Eg: I have a workbook named tasks_tracking in my local machine and master_data in another computer. Now in tasks_tracking workbook, in Column A (named task_nbr), If I enter a particular task number, it should be searched in the track_nbr_list column in master_data workbook and return error if not exist.


Please help me...

Although sharing it... How I will frame the formula for the validation? Using IP Address?

With both workbooks open on your machine, what happens if you simply create the formula (by selecting the cells)

=IF(ISNA(MATCH(Local_task,Master_List,0))),"Error","")


Then close the Master Workbook. The formula should create the path I would think...
