Hello.
I have Multiple users that submit their ranked choices of dessert flavors, they rank them in order of importance (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and submit to me.
I have to choose the top 3 most popular dessert flavors based on rank (1st, 2nd, 3rd) and frequency - how often the appear in the list - but I am not sure what makes sense statistically. Can you help me do this in excel using a formula?
I have tried getting the count of each occurrence, then multiplying by weight (4 points for 1st, 3 points for 2nd, 2 points for 3rd) but I know there is a better way to get this data. Can you please help me find the best solution and formula?
Thank you excel wizards! I am using MS Excel 365.
