Help with date formulas

I am having problems with writing the correct formula for a spreadsheet. I am also having problems uploading an excel file as I can't see any excel files in any folders when I go to upload the file to explain the date formulas I want to write. To overcome this I have put the example, formulas and explanation into a word document. Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Sue

I can't for some reason. The xl files aren't showing up when I go to the upload button. That is why I uploaded the word document.

You can zip it for upload too or send the file to me in a message.

@Hui : Lot's of people having the same issue. Pls consider to validate it.

I think I solved it - when I can upload the document will send it to you for your comments. Thanks very much for your help and time.

Thanks. I don't entirely understand the formula in column F. This only relates to column E and is either 3 or 6 months later depending on the date in E. If I change the date in E, the date in F is not changing. In looking at this and changing the date in column D the date in F changes.

To try and recap/clarify:
Column D only relates to column G. The date in column G is one year after column D. If this date is getting close and is due in the next 7 days, the cell in column G needs to be highlighted in yellow. If it is prior to today it needs to be highlighted in red. This is any date prior to today - can be yesterday or three months ago.

Column E only relates to column F. This is also dependent on the value "H" or "L" in column B. If B = "H" column F is 3 months after column E. If B = "L" column F is 6 months after column E. If the date in column F is getting close and is due in the next 7 days, the cell in column F needs to be highlighted in yellow. If it is prior to today it needs to be highlighted in red. This is any date prior to today - can be yesterday or three months ago.

I hope this helps a little. Thanks for the assistance I really appreciate it

I managed to understand and alter the formula in column F. Just have to get the conditional formatting right now :)

Still can't upload the file with the change - will send a copy by email
