Go to function

Hi, this is my first post. I am hooked on to excel and is trying to be aWeSOME.

I was working on an exhaustive stock list during the month end.

While working I had blank cells in my first column with the breakup in the 4th and 5th column. I wanted to fill all the blank columns corresponding to the quantity.

I would have probably used the traditional dragging to fillup the cells.

But, now, after starting to try things in excel I could do it using the "Go To" function .

Method:

1. Select the column to be filled with the top value

2. Ctrl + G, and select the radio button (blanks)

3. Put the formula pointing to the cell above the first blank

4. Use combination keys Ctrl + Enter

5. And all the blank cells are filled with data..

Can we have some more detailed discussions on Go to function?

After point 2, assuming you had a few cells selected

you can just press Ctrl D and it will duplicate the cells above
