Get deleted contents after saving the file

Greetings!!

I was working into an old excel file into which few columns had data got deleted(unintentionally) and eventually file was saved(Ctrl+S) and closed

Later when the file was opened those columns could not be traced as they got deleted(unintentionally)

Is there any way to get those columns back with the data

The short answer is No

When deleting Columns you are warned that it cannot be undone
This is made worse by Saving and Closing the workbook

Your only possible sources of joy are:

1. Temporary files
Are there any temporary files in the directory where the file is?
It maybe named like As3dh5as32ccva etc
just random characters
if So copy it somewhere safe and rename it *.xls or *.xlsx as appropriate

2. Backups
Do you or anybody else have a backup ?

3. Other Locations
Other places to look for copies are, Portable hard drives, thumb drives or in emails are other good locations to look

If the answer is no your out of luck
