Frequently bought goods by Invoice No

Hi All Ninjas,

Need your help.

I have a data set where in Column A I have 'Invoice Numbers' and in Column B 'Item Numbers'.

Each Invoice contains multiple items.

What I want to do is to identify which Items have been frequently bought in one invoice.

If you turn your data into a table you can then filter the data to get what ever you want.

The analysis I am trying to do is that which Items are bought by together.

This will be achieved through identifying which Invoices have a common pair of Items.

Hope I am successful in trying to explain.

I think a simple pivot would make the things much easier.

See the attached example, i have converted your file in xlsb (for size limit)

The subject matter is called "Market Basket Analysis", i found a complete tutorial of how to do it on excel here:

hope it helps, but in my opinion it is tedious and cumbersome, i suggest you should use something like SPSS so that you can focus on results rather then calculations.

Thank you very much. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Agree it is tedious, but once I have learned it step by step I will be able to develop a SQL in Access and then I will be able to link my DBS to our company's database for periodic analysis.
