Hi Excel Gurus,

Please help. Whenever I am trying to write a formula for adding along with the TEXT its not happening.

Use the below formula in cell 'B3' and you can copy down the formula

=LEFT(B2,FIND("-",B2))&INT(MID(B2,FIND("-",B2)+1,20))+1

Another option:

B2
Go to Format Cell > Number > Custom
Enter the following:
"AMC-"0000

Put the below formula in B3
=B2+1

Now copy down.

Its not working. Because when I go to Format Cell I can go either > Number or > Custom but not to Format Cell > Number > Custom

Hi Raj,

You can go to Format Cell by using Ctrl+1
On the Number Tab Click Custom

Hope this will help:



Enter formula in B3:
=B2+1



Now you can copy down.
