Have uploaded the file with the solution - a formula with some helper columns. Do let me know what you think about this.

Thanks Suril. It is correct but do not you think this is lengthy. Any other solution by which we could make it short.
 
The other solution involves a lengthy formula using offset which might take more time for computation. If you are still interested in that then I will work out and let you know

Thanks a lot for guideline. Problem has been resolved so i think no need of any other formula.

Formula is working for 22 Aug but when we drag this formula in the next column then # Num error is displaying. Please find the attached and help where is the fault in the formula. Thanks a lot friend for the solution.

Following are the errors in the formula:-
Ist- Result are not correct. I had checked for 23 Aug and found that few names are not returning by the formula and few wrong names are returning. Please find the attached and refer the Summary in Sheet - Sgpatnaik from Cell K4:l12.

2nd- when i dragged the data in more columns then error # Number is dispalying.

Therfore please do the needful.

@ram...Hav you had checked that your Roster sheet had date in year 2012 and your D2 has date in 2013.

Issue has been resolved completely. May you describe this formula so that i could modify it when error message comes in the formula. Please reply of my conversation also which is pending at your end.
