Formula is not visible

Hi,


I am facing this issue related o formula, which I hide with going to review tab and click on protect sheet and going to Home >Format>format cells and then untick Hidden option.


But after doing all I am not able to see my formula in that particular cell, though in formula bar I can see the formula but end result of this formula in cell is not visible.


Any suggestion please…
 
That option is for hiding formula from formula bar. Not in cell.

To show/hide formula in cell. Go to formula ribbon tab and tick or un-tick "Show Formulas" option.

Thanks Eloise and Chihiro...but this is not what I am looking for...
ok trying it again...I have entered certain formula but I don't want other ppl to see what formula I am using to get my result...so I need a suggest how to hide and unhide (in case I need modification in my formula later) my formula...thanks
 
You can hide the cells formulas using Sheet Protection

Goto the cells you want to not show the Formulas eg: D3
You can also select a range if required

Then goto the Review, Protect Worksheet Tab

Apply a Password if Required and Ok

The Formula Bar is now Blank and you cannot see or edit the Formula

Yes thank you…that is something i know, my question after unclicking on hidden option and unprotecting the sheet.

I should able to see my formula result in that particular column but that is not happening.

After unprotecting and unclicking on hidden I can see formula in formula bar but result of that particular formula is not visible in that cell
 
Ok... so let me see if I understood your issue.

1. You have locked cell with hidden formula on protected sheet.
2. You unprotect the sheet and uncheck hidden.
3. Formula is visible in formula bar (ex. =A1 + A2), but the result of that formula isn't visible in the cell.

Does the cell show as blank? What does show in the cell when the sheet is protected?
 
Yes cell is showing as blank...I have applied formula let's say in cell C2 (A1+B1).
Same is visible in formula bar but not in cell C1
 
Hmm, can you upload sample file? If you can replicate the issue in another workbook. If not, check the option setting on both file and compare to see what the difference is. I was unable to replicate issue on my end.
 
Hi ,

There are two possibilities , both of them having to do with the cell format.

Either the result of the formula is a zero , and zero display has been disabled , using Excel Options or a cell format.

If the result of the formula is non-zero , and is still not being displayed , the font might have been changed to white.

I tried to replicate same issue with another file but it is picking up and showing the results in another file. Font is black only.

I have checked the format as well..it is set as General
