Filter list order in Pivot Table

Hi,

Is there any way to re-arrange the order of the items in one specific filter in a Pivot Table? It seems that excel sorts it "in order of appearence", but could it be done in alphabetical order, for example?

Reason: I'm tired of doing millions of Move Down/Move Up/Move to end...

Thanks

Hi,

If you click on the filter drop down button you will then have the options: Sort A->Z; Sort Z->A or more sort options.

If you sort as required this will also flow through to the filter.

Sorry, could not figure out how to do it. I must mention that I am using excel 2003.

In the filter list on a pivot table I do not have any more options than to check/uncheck the boxes referring to each item or to all of them.

In 2003 Microsoft hid it away.

1) Right click on the field to sort by in the Pivot Table >

2) Select Field Settings >

3) Click on Advanced >

You will then see AutoSort options:

Manual, Ascending or Descending.

You can sort by the field name or by the sum of its value.

How do I create a custom list for sorting within a Pivot Table? (Excel 2010)

Must it be done manually by dragging?
