Good day all
I am trying to use excel to prove to a work colleague that you only have to bend a strip of metal twenty times to get over one million layers, such a craftsman would do in making a Samurai sword,….but excel will not fill the way I need it to. In A1:A4 I am putting 2,4,8,16 and selecting all four cells and then filling down to cell number twenty but the result I get is;

Not what I was expecting, I know there is something I am not doing, can someone help please. I now there is a facility in excel to fill as I need as I have used it before.. but for the life of me I cannot remember where it is.
The cells are format as number, I even tryed formating as general made no difference
