Extracting Sent Date from .MSG Files

Hi,

I have an excel spreadsheet that, in a column, lists pathname and filename of numerous .msg files (Outlook message format). What I need to do is somehow extract the Sent Date from those .msg files and place it in another column. Presumably, a VBA macro will need to open each .msg file as an appropriate object and extract the date?

Has anyone done this before or can suggest how?

thanks, in advance!
