I am interviewing for a Financial Analyst and I was wondering if anyone has a good excel test to make sure the applicants have the necessary excel skills. Would appreciate any suggestions. thank you

Ask him to bring examples of work he has done

or

Setup some simple data and ask him to do 3 or 4 key steps that you would require of an analyst

Thank you. These are all helpful. I will take some reports we do, give the applicants the raw data and see what they can do. I have had applicants in the past tell me they know excel and are very proficient in it only to find out after they were hired that they really only knew basics. I need a really advanced analyst this time and don't want to take any chances. I thought someone might have developed a test that would be really good however will work on something myself based on Hui's comments and your links.
