Excel formatting doubt

New Member
Hey,

I tried formatting the series of cells with the formula "Proper()" to the text from "sample data" to "Sample Data". When i tried copying it as formula and paste it and apply to the consecutive cells, i'm not able to do it. Only the formatting is updated to the first and least cell in the series :'(... Am i missing something here... kindly help me with this?? (like how to apply the same formatting to the many cells...

Thanks

Prabhu

I'd need to see it, your explanation is not very clear.

My guess is you need to either copy/paste special > values or use an absolute reference---ie:

instead of proper(a1), use proper($a$1).

Make sure the cells don't have any Conditional Formatting already applied as that may be over-riding your changes

Select the Area

Goto Conditional Formatting

Clear Rules from Selected areas
