excel connection to sharepoint List fails for other users except myself

i created a dashboard that is connected to a sharepoint list. The dashboard is then hosted in the sharepoint documents. when i go into the excel i'm able to enable the macros and Data connections with out error. But if anyone else trys the get a data connection error. has anyone ever ran into this? I'm using excel 2007 and sharepoint 2007.

I have never used Sharepoint but I assume this will come down to access permissions of the data/link


This is probably best discussed with your Sharepoint administrator

If you are using a sharepoint list/view,.....is it a view that is personal or public. I had the same issue and it turned ou the view I was trying to link to was one I created in my personal view section. Once I created the same view as a public view, others were able to see my Excel report which linked to the data in SharePoint.
