Excel 2013 - 2010 Problems

Hi,


Has anyone encountered any problems making sheets in Excel 2013 and someone else using them in Excel 2010? Want to get myself an 2013 version, but need to make sure that the higher managment can still use my sheets.

Welcome to the forum


I am using same work books over 2003/2010/2013 with no problems, just remember certain things such as named ranges do no work with older versions as they do not go as high as 2010/2013


Just save work in compatibility mode
 
Hi Peter,


Before you upgrade, have a very careful look at which Office 2013 SKU you need. For example, if you're a powerpivot user, check which SKU you need in order to keep using powerpivot and make a judgement call against whether or not the price is acceptable for you.

I'm not aware of any backward compatibility issues for Excel 2013.


There may be a few Macros which if developed before 2007 will not work without small modification, but asides those you should have no problems.

Excel changed how the object model defined how charts and chart objects were specified between 2003 and 2007 and that is the major issue with macros.
