Dynamic link update in Index

Hi
I am using Index match formula to get data from an external file. I have similar files for each month. How can I dynamically change file pathe so that index match derives data from different months based on my choice.
EG: File 1 has index match formula thats deriving data from C:\file 2. I want to change reference file 2 to file 3 and so forth dynamically in index match formula in file 1.

Any help is greatly apreciated.
 
Can you post the actual formula you are using now?
Are the ranges the same in each file ?
Are the ranges in the files named ?
