I have search and tried to find a legitimate way to open 2 differant spread spreadsheet (workbooks) and need to have workbook "A" on screen 1 and workbook "B" on screen 2. Can anyoone explain how I can make this happen?

You need to open a 2nd instance of XL. After opening the first workbook, you'll need to open a new instance of XL by clicking on the Excel.exe file or a shortcut. E.g., Start Menu - Programs - Microsoft Office, Excel. Then you can place one instance on one monitor and the other instance on the other window.

Hi.

This might be useful as well

Ok, I will give both suggestins a whirl. Someone told me that you can go in to the properties of xls and change something and it will open each file in it's own window vs opening all in one. (Comparable to Word)

As I appreciate these suggestions, neither is what I am looking for :(

As if you would open two differnt word documents, one on each screen, I want to do that withtwo diffrent excel sheets. I dont want to have to mess with resizing rearranging - but open one, drag to left monitor, open tweo and drag to right monitor. This would allow me to navigate through my spread sheets faster as well as checking other documents as well.

I know there has to be a way to do this.

Any thoughts?

The best way of doing this is to minimize your excel so that you can adjust the size. then drag it from one corner to the opposite end, in a diagonal, then you can go to view in the ribbon, then select Arrange all, then click vertical

May be this one

Its a bit late, But welcome to the Chandoo.org forums

Open Excel and open the two files

Don't use the maximise button, but drag the corners of the Main Excel window until it fits the two screens

In Excel, goto the View Tab,

Arrange All, Vertical

manually adjust each file if required
