DSO using Count Back Method

Bhargav Parikh

New Member
I need to calculate the DSO using countback method. it is similar to payback period. the thing is i need one formules. Using Match and Offsett formulae i was able to calculate. but i would like to have the same in a single cell which i can apply across months and states

Would you mind explaining what DSO stands for? Or "countback" method? While they may be familiar terms in your area of work, not all of us are familiar with them. Thanks!

Bhargav,

In Chandoo.org, we encourage people to upload their sample workbook in order to help us understand their data layout which in turns help to work on the problem bit more easily.

Please see the below link for the same.

Also please clarify the questions Luke has asked for..

Is there a method to upload the excel file asking questions.

Count back is accounting ratio for Debtors Sales Ratio.

General method is Debtors/ Avg Sales, however here he go back in descending order in terms of sales and calculate the days till the value of AR is reached.

There are lot of posts in google, but there is no such excel formula. if you still want to understand on the countback methodology.

Hi Bhargav,

In my last post, I have mentioned the link to upload the workbook. In case you missed that, here it is:

Also request you to plz explain the abbreviations when you use them in post as everybody are not from same educationaltechnical background. However, does AR stand for Account Receivable or something else?

In case you are not able to upload the sample workbook, please copy paste some sample data here and explain what exactly you want to achieve.

Thank you for your understanding and co-operation.

Regards,

Kaushik
