Disable double click send to bottom/top of row

Sometimes when I double click a cell for purposes of editing its contents Excel will send me straight to the top/bottom of that column. I figured out it does it if I double click closer to either the very top of very bottom of the row so I've become more careful with clicking exactly in the middle but I would much rather just disable this feature (permanently for all future workbooks) because I use relatively small cells and I don't feel like worrying about where in the cell I click on to edit it. It wastes time and if I accidentally miss I lose my place in the workbook.

Thanks!

Doesn't look like there's a good, direct solution. Here's the best of what I found:

So there you go

I've been using Excel for 25 years and today I find a new function I wasn't aware of, but have now added to my arsenal.

Double clicking the cell's Left/Right borders also takes you to the Left/Right edges of the current data block

Thanx Soswinglifeaway
