I have read a couples introductions about decomposition tree & key influencer on websites, however, I am still not quite sure when I shall use decomposition tree or key influencer.
Brief definition
Key Influences: to find out increase or decrease of a target variable
Decomposition tree: ad-hoc exploration or find the root cause
If the following scenario, which one I shall use? I would be grateful if you could provide more examples to us. Thank you so mch.

1) to find out why customer churn
2) why shop sales increase or decrease
