Date function with freeze option

Dear All

I have work sheet name Returns if I type today something in A1 I need todays date in B1 and it should freeze and if type something in A2 or any other cell in A:A I need that particular date in B column and should freeze as given below


A B

apple 20/5/2024 (Date should be get automatically)
banana 20/5/2024
orange 21/5/2024
Grapes 21/5/2024
Mangao 22/5/2024
