Custom Format Alignment Issue

MSC Bobs

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to use a custom number format with arrow symbols to represent a positive / negative change. In addition, I'm using color codes.

My problem is the arrows are not aligning the way I would like. I would like the arrows left justified so that an imaginary vertical line would pass right through the center.

I've used this format in a different spreadsheet and it works exactly the way I like, so I'm not sure why it doesn't align now.

I'm hoping someone can take a look at it and see if there's a fix.

Thanks!

The non-alignment seems to be related to the Column Width
If you change it up/down you will see what I mean

I don't know if there is a simple solution to this if you are using the file on multiple pc's, except a bit of VBA to automatically set the column width to something that works on each pc?, but that seems like an overkill

This may even be worse if using different versions of Excel as they seem to tinker with the rendering engine each version

You may also want to try using a different Font, Keep trying them until you get a satisfactory result. Select the range and simply scroll through the Font Selector Dialog and it updates on the worksheet

I don't know if anybody cares, but I figured out how to get it aligned.

When I was having the problem, in the Home tab I had all my numbers right aligned. I de-selected the right alignment so that there was no alignment in the cell and it gave me the exact effect I was looking for. Weird.
