Convert Slicer into Button

Hi all,

Great website.

Question: I am wondering how can I convert a slicer selection into multiple button that does the same thing as the slicer?
ie: if a click the button it updates the pivot like if I click the slicers .

Why would you want to do this ?

Are you not using Excel 2010 or later version ?

I am using Excel 2013, I think using a button will look better for my Dashboard.
also thee slicer takes too much space in my Dashboard, replacing by button will make it look smaller.

Hi ,

I doubt if the work involved in replacing a slicer by several command buttons , with their associated code , is justified.

Slicers can be styled to look great ; check out this post :

This kind of thing indeed takes a lot of work. I've been working on an 'improved' slicer for over a year, that only appears when you double-click a PivotTable, and that lets you do all sort of wildcard filtering that you can't do with native Slicers/Pivots:
