convert a string in formula

drom

New Member
Hi and thanks in advance!

Say I have in a cell eg in A1 = "zzz=B4*C15+H12 - G4"

and I would like to convert this cell in

=B4*C15+H12-G4

when I use replace "zzz=" with "=" excel is pasting "'="

so I do not get the desired formula

any idea how to solve this ?

.
Not certain I understand your question ....

But, what about : =B4*C15+H12-G4 pasted in A1 ?
Does this get the result you are seeking ?

Or perhaps : =(B4*C15)+(H12-G4)

Can you maybe explain what you are doing and what you want to achieve?

Hi ,

I entered the following text string in A1 :

zzz=B4*C15+H12 - G4

not :

"zzz=B4*C15+H12 - G4"

which has double quotes before and after the text string.

Then I used CTRL H to replace the text zzz= with just the equal to symbol =

The cell now displayed the formula :

=B4*C15+H12 - G4
