Comments Wandered far from their Cells

Hi all - first post. I have a spreadsheet with 1100 rows in Excel 2007. It was originally maybe 800 rows and I've been inserting rows as I go along, and sometimes inserting comments. I've inserted around 25 comments. I have the Show All Comments toggled on. Some of the comments have migrated far down the page - the lowest is at row 3175. I have been manually dragging the comments back up to where they belong but this is tedious and I don't know what caused them to wander in the first place, so I'm afraid they will do it again. Anyone know how to:

1) Get comments back where they belong (aside from dragging)

2) Prevent future wandering

All of the comments when I insert them are defaulting to "Don't Move or Size With Cells" which I think is the right setting to prevent this problem.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Debra's got a whole bunch of handy macros for dealing with comments, including ones to resize or reposition wandering comments.

How it happens? I think it has something to do with window freezing, if you edit the comment or manually move it, and some dark magic.

The movement of comments mostly occurs when you have grouped and shrunk or Hidden rows or column and then insert the comments.

When ungroup/unhidden the comments can be dragged out of shape.

A similar thing can happen if you insert a Chart which crosses one of those hidden gaps, it can become huge upon unhiding the rows/columns especially if there are thousands of them.
